Good Work in Milton CARPS!!
Hey Carps!
Just wanted to congratulate everyone on a very good race day yesterday. The fact that we posted some very good times and made it into B Division is something to be proud of!
Hope everyone is not too sore today. The heat had me rather drained, but it was a fun day outside. Next time, I will have to get into that scrabble game. and stuff myself with jimmy coookies. so good.
take a break and we will see you back on the water next week!!
I think Michelle will post something about Kareoke on the 28th.

Milton Race info for Sunday
Hi everyone,
Ready for our first race?? It's going to be awesome!! Here are the details for Sunday:
Race Time:
Our first race is at 9:28 and so we need everyone to be at our team area by 8:15 in order to get our tents set up and have time to warm up before marshalling for the race. We will be marshalling 15 minutes prior to each race. This is one of the later races, so parking may be quite far from the team areas - please leave enough time to be able to find us in time. Michelle and I will be there by 7 for the team captains meeting, so come find us! Don't forget your camp chairs, blankets, frisbees, reading, whatever you need to keep occupied all day. They'll be a lot of hanging out time in between races!
Driving Directions to Kelso Conservation Park:
From 401, take exit 320 for highway 25 NORTH and go 1.5 km
Turn LEFT at 5 Side Road/Campbellville Road, and go 2.2 km
Turn LEFT at Tremaine Road and go 3 km to Kelso Road
TURN RIGHT on Kelso Road and go 1.6 km to the Kelso gate house
IF you are going the RED PARKING AREA stay RIGHT. If you are going to
the GENERAL UNLOADING AND PARKING AREA, go STRAIGHT AHEAD
Race Format:
We will have 3 races during the day. The first race is randomly seeded and is only for time. The second race they race all the 1st place teams together, etc. The 3rd race will be determined by a combination of our times from the 1st and 2nd race. This will put us in a division and will be for medals!
I think that's about it! If there are any questions, please ask at practice tomorrow or email or call me anytime.
Let's go CARPS!!!

Oakville Practice info
Burlaok Canoe Club in Oakville:
The address is 160 Water Street. Take the QEW westbound from Toronto and exit at Trafalgar Road. Turn left (south) on Trafalgar. Take Trafalgar toward downtown Oakville and turn right on Randall Street. Turn right on Navy Street and then left on Water Street. Those needing rides or who have a ride to offer, please go to the discussion board.
Meeting time for practice is 10:00am sharp. Please be on time so that waivers can get signed and you can get a good warm up in before you get on the water. You want to make sure you have time in case you have trouble finding parking or whatever. This practice is only a week before our race, so we want to build up the team's strength and cardio endurance for the big day! We get on the water for 11:00.
Remember, we do not have practice this Wednesday (Aug 5th). We meet in Oakville on the 8th and then we are back at Sunnyside on the 12th.
IF YOU CANNOT MAKE PRACTICE OR YOU ARE RUNNING LATE, CONTACT KEVIN AT 416-717-2446. Both Heather and I are away this practice.
Thanks all!

Practice tonight
Hey Carps!
We are watching the skies carefully today... there may be thunderstorms this afternoon. You can call the Sunnyside hotline to check (416-532-6979), but plan to be there!! The call is usually made too late to not show up. Bring your rain gear and your energy - only 2 more practices until our first race!!
Call me if you need to at 416-829-9483.
