It's quite sad news to here about our own paddlers and their tragedies in Malaysia. But what irks me more is the the recent drowning of spectators. Nine Chinese villagers died and two were missing after they fell into a river in east China while watching a traditional Dragon Boat race from a rain-soaked embankment, state media said on Tuesday.
Hey everyone,
The past while we've been working on continually updating the team pages for added functionality. Each team now contains a guestbook, contact section, revamped season details section, roster, as well as an team blog area to shout out to the rest of the community.
You can view the new features in action right here Waterhawks Dragon Boat Club
I've got a couple of other things coming in the hopper to help teams promote themselves on this site, then we're on to getting galleries for each team!
I know it's been nearly a month since our last post - but really, we've been busy! Hopefully sometime by the end of the month we can show you some of the new features on it's way for ready-ready.org.
Having said that I'm pleased to announce our first team from the UK, the Kingston Royals. We spoke with Simon Blackburn to get to know them a little better.
We are one of the oldest dragon boat clubs in Britain, and have raced since 1987. We regularly compete in the BDA national league and have entered longer events such as the Henley Winter Series and the 23 mile Great River Race. We train on the last non-tidal reach of the River Thames in SW London. We regularly take beginners but also have several international paddlers - with many of the former becomming the latter! And if anyone is visiting London and wants a paddle during their vacation/business trip then please get in touch.
Our club colours, royal blue and electric pink, come from our founders (who took the royal blue of the Royal Canoe Club) and a claim that they were so good "that they could even win in pink"!
We are a sociable club, holding BBQs in the summer and a few parties to keep the spirits up during the long winter months. We are co-located with other sports clubs so we also join in at their functions as well.
I know it's been a while since I've last posted here. I've been wrapping up some loose threads with some of the code, so with that in mind, I'd like to thank you all for your patience.

Exciting news we've just received from GWN Dragon Boat that Orlando International Dragon Boat Festival (OIDBF) will be held at Walt Disney World Resort October 18, 2008. Wouldn't that be quite a show if all the Disney characters, Goofy, Mickey Mouse, and Cinderella were to paddle together? That would be something I would consider flying down to see.

Good evening! I'd like to welcome BraveHearts, a co-ed team where ALL of the members are cancer survivors (all types of cancer).
This team was started by Breast Cancer survivors who had felt that anyone going through the rigours of any type of cancer could benefit from the sport of dragon boat racing, through an improved healthier lifestyle in a supportive environment.Being the first of our kind in Canada, we hope to encourage other communities to start a similar team and enrich the lives of all cancer survivors.
It would appear that we had multiple issues last night with our location finder. We use the location finder to keep the data in our database consistent so that teams will be categorized properly.

Hi everyone,
It's been about 10 days since my last site update, so I'd like to let you all know what we've been the latest with ready-ready.org.
New Features:
As promised, we've been pushing on allowing members to upload pictures. This was a struggle for me initially because I needed to find a way to conserve space on the server if individuals were going to upload their own pics. I've eventually resolved the issue, so please look forward to seeing some faces on the forums.
Currently right now profile pictures and club photos can be see within your team.
Fixed Features:
There were a couple of bugged items that we've been working on ready-ready.org noticeably the forums. We're still working on these as we speak!
Site Statistics:
Since our last update we've had over 11 new teams and 43 members sign up! We're really happy with this direction and we're hoping to get more teams to signup over the next few months.
