  1. Site changes & forums released 1.9.2009 at 9:30 a.m.

It's been quiet around here lately, but I've been working hard lately to implement a couple more features these past couple of weeks.

Forums are now online and you can visit them by clicking on the forum link in the top right corner.
I'm also in the final stages of polishing parts of the team pages so that we can let everyone sign up their teams without having to go through the emailing process.

  3. ready-ready.org 1.025.3.2009 at 8:04 p.m.

    Hi everyone,
ready-ready.org is back, and over the past year we've been rethinking about the website what was working and what wasn't, but more importantly what the dragon boat community needed from a website. Today we've brought that vision forward and as you can see we are always under construction!

Please stay tuned for our official announcement.

  4. Villagers killed spectating Dragon Boating10.6.2008 at 9:37 a.m.

It's quite sad news to here about our own paddlers and their tragedies in Malaysia. But what irks me more is the the recent drowning of spectators. Nine Chinese villagers died and two were missing after they fell into a river in east China while watching a traditional Dragon Boat race from a rain-soaked embankment, state media said on Tuesday.

  5. Site Updates for June10.6.2008 at 9:24 a.m.

    Hey everyone,

The past while we've been working on continually updating the team pages for added functionality. Each team now contains a guestbook, contact section, revamped season details section, roster, as well as an team blog area to shout out to the rest of the community.

You can view the new features in action right here Waterhawks Dragon Boat Club

I've got a couple of other things coming in the hopper to help teams promote themselves on this site, then we're on to getting galleries for each team!

  6. Team Announcement: Kingston Royals30.5.2008 at 9:13 a.m.

I know it's been nearly a month since our last post - but really, we've been busy! Hopefully sometime by the end of the month we can show you some of the new features on it's way for ready-ready.org.

Having said that I'm pleased to announce our first team from the UK, the Kingston Royals. We spoke with Simon Blackburn to get to know them a little better.

We are one of the oldest dragon boat clubs in Britain, and have raced since 1987. We regularly compete in the BDA national league and have entered longer events such as the Henley Winter Series and the 23 mile Great River Race. We train on the last non-tidal reach of the River Thames in SW London. We regularly take beginners but also have several international paddlers - with many of the former becomming the latter! And if anyone is visiting London and wants a paddle during their vacation/business trip then please get in touch.

Our club colours, royal blue and electric pink, come from our founders (who took the royal blue of the Royal Canoe Club) and a claim that they were so good "that they could even win in pink"!

We are a sociable club, holding BBQs in the summer and a few parties to keep the spirits up during the long winter months. We are co-located with other sports clubs so we also join in at their functions as well.
